  • Oxford is not a campus university, so once you're here you can use our interactive, searchable map of Oxford's colleges, halls, departments, libraries and museums to find your way around, or download our interactive and accessible Explore Oxford University Map 2022. You can also use Google Maps to find your way around Oxford on foot or using public transport.

    ✈️From London airports

    From London Heathrow and Gatwick airports, take The Airline coach service, which runs 24 hours a day. You can also get to Oxford by train from Heathrow via London, and from Gatwick via Reading. From London Stansted airport, take the Stansted Express train service to London Liverpool Street and then take the tube to either Paddington or Marylebone for direct trains to Oxford. Alternatively, there is a National Express 737 coach service.

    ✈️From Bristol airport

    From Bristol airport, take the A1 bus from Airport Terminal (Stand 1) to Temple Meads station. Then take the train to Oxford, changing at Reading station. Alternatively leave from the airport Bus Station and take the Fal bus to Cabot Circus. Then walk to Bristol Bond Street bus stop and take the megabus M81, megabus M37N, or the megabus M34N to Gloucester Green Bus Station.

    ✈️From Birmingham airport

    Go to the Birmingham Airport (BHX) train station and take the Cross Country train to Oxford.

    🚄Trains

    Direct services run from London Paddington (serving Oxford station) and London Marylebone (serving Oxford and Oxford Parkway stations). Other services operate from the north via Birmingham New Street; from the south via Reading; and from the west via Didcot or Reading. For details and to plan your journey, see National Rail Enquiries. Oxford Railway Station is a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of Oxford. Please use Google Maps or our interactive map to find your way from the station to the part of the University you are visiting. PLEASE NOTE: Oxford Parkway Station is a roughly 20-minute bus ride from Oxford city centre via the Water Eaton stop at the station. Bus timetables can be found here.

    🚌Coaches

    The Oxford Tube offers a direct service between Oxford and London, running a frequent timetable on a virtually 24-hour basis, Monday to Sunday. For information on coaches from other major cities and airports, see National Express. The central Oxford coach station is at Gloucester Green in the city centre. Please use Google Maps or our interactive map to find your way from the station to the part of the University you are visiting.

    🚗 Parking in Oxford

    Many Oxford streets are closed to traffic and parking is severely limited. Visitors are encouraged to use the five Park and Ride bus services.

    Please refer to Oxfordshire County Council's up-to-date traffic information for details of all local road works and any disruptions likely to delay your journey.

    Park and Ride

    There are five Park and Ride sites which serve Oxford city centre:

    - Oxford Parkway (north). For satnav use OX2 8HA.  Take the Stagecoach7 bus to and from the city centre.

    - Pear Tree (north). For satnav use OX2 8JZ.  Take the 300 bus to and from the city centre.

    - Redbridge (south). For satnav use OX1 4XG.  Take the 300 bus to and from the city centre.

    - Thornhill (east). For satnav use OX3 8DP.  Take the 400 bus to and from the city centre.

    - Seacourt (west). For satnav use OX2 0HP.  Take the 400 bus to and from the city centre.

    Please note that Thornhill and Seacourt are often full, particularly on University Open Days. We recommend that drivers coming from the east (including London), the south and the west use the Redbridge Park and Ride, while drivers arriving from the north can choose between Pear Tree and Oxford Parkway.

    The Oxford Bus Company has information on Park and Ride services 300 and 400. The latest timetable for Stagecoach 7 is available here.

    🅿️ Parking in Oxford city centre

    Parking in Oxford city centre is limited and can be expensive. For information on car parks, on-street parking and costs of parking, see Oxfordshire County Council's website.

    🚕 Taxis

    There are taxi ranks at Oxford Railway Station, Gloucester Green Coach Station and St Giles' Street in the city centre.

  • The venue for the conference is the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. Please find access information about the venue through the following link.

    We advise you map the venue to figure out your best mode of transport there. 

    Bike parking

    Fixed stand cycle parking is provided at several locations around the building for staff, visitor and students’ use. There is a significant external CCTV on the ROQ site, monitored by OUSS, but it is strongly advisable to secure your bike with a high quality D lock.

    Wifi

    There are two main options for wifi in the venue. The first is Eduroam - you may already have this if you are a part of a European University. See how to access this here.

    The other option is The Cloud. The Cloud can be used by anyone. When you connect to the network if you open a browser it should take you to a portal page to register / connect.

  • 🚌Transport options in Oxford

    A large number of people in Oxford cycle to work, and many others choose to take the bus or train. You can find information on all forms of local transport on the Experience Oxfordshire website.

    Thames Travel operates a shuttle service on three routes between the University's major science research sites. You can also book a taxi (a 'black cab') from the taxi rank at the rail station or coach station, or a pre-booked licensed private hire vehicle from any location. Some well-known Oxford taxi companies are Go Green Taxis, 001 Taxis and Royal Cars. All three companies have apps that are available for download from the Apple and Google Play app stores.

    You can catch the train from Oxford to most major cities including London (Paddington or Marylebone), Reading, Birmingham and Manchester.

    You can travel by coach to London using the Oxford Tube services, or to London Heathrow, Gatwick, and Birmingham airports.

    If you or your visitors would like to travel further afield, you may wish to hire a car.
